Lake George Quadrangle

Alder Creek Falls #1
From West Brook First Falls, hike downstream about 50 yards to the top of this drop which is a 15' cascading flume.  Like First Falls, it is set in a deep gorge so be careful as you move around. If you walk downstream about 40 yards past the base of the falls you will find a place where you can get down to the stream level and then work your way into the gorge for some good views.

After viewing this falls, retrace your steps back to the picnic table and back up the side path to the main trail to continue on to the next drop.

Our thanks to Gary Dilmore for the photos and information on this location.

West Brook empties into Lake George.  The water from this then flows through La Chute into Lake Champlain.  The flow then goes north through Canada on the Richelieu River and empties into the St. Lawrence River.
