Like the previous segment of this hike, Upper Falls #13
is just a short distance beyond #12. Continue hiking along
the edge of the stream.
Shelving Rock Brook Upper Falls #13 is something you're
going to want to spend some time on. At an estimated 40'
tall with several distinct drops it's a real beauty. After
viewing it from the base, work your way up the left side of
the brook to get some nice views of the upper sections. As
always, use caution as you move around. After you're done
admiring this waterfall just work your way back over to the
trail and continue upstream.
Shelving Rock Brook empties into Lake George. The water
from this then flows through La Chute into Lake Champlain.
The flow then goes north through Canada on the Richelieu River and
empties into the St. Lawrence River.
Please note that the Shelving Rock Brook is
officially named but these tributaries and the falls on them are
unnamed. We have chosen these monikers to simplify the
cataloging of the waterfalls.
