We are appealing to our readers for some help with this one.  A very prolific contributor named Gary Dilmore has been sending in pictures and information on many waterfall locations in Washington and Essex Counties during 2025 and '26.  One of those locations is in the Ironville region so we were considering naming it Ironville Falls.

As your webmaster started the process of saving the photos, he discovered that he already had a folder, saved in 2016, entitled Ironville Falls.  None of the pictures in the folder had been edited or posted on this website.  For whatever reason, it appears that he neglected this waterfall completely. 

Now, fast-forward ten years or more and he is unable to find the usually saved audio files which were notes of the trip.  Any written notes of the trip are similarly long gone!  Needless to say, he has forgotten specifics of this trip so we are in scramble mode!

From the pictures and video, does anyone recognize this location?  We think we know where is it but until we can get back there to investigate, we are not certain.

In the hamlet of Ironville, Penfield Road enters from the north.  West of this, Creek Road splits into Old Furnace Road and Corduroy Road.  Between these two intersections and closer to the west end, there is an unnamed creek that crosses CR 2/Creek Road, entering into Penfield Pond.  It seems likely that these pictures were taken facing north up this creek. 

It is our intention to get back to this spot next spring.  Until then, if anyone can either confirm or deny our hypothesis, we would really appreciate it.  If this is not that location, perhaps someone can tell us where it really is.  Please contact us at webmaster@nnywaterfalls.com.
