There is no parking lot, so parking is on the shoulder,
although some choose to park at a wider shoulder area on the other
side of the bridge. USGS topographical maps show a "falls"
on this waterway. This is reportedly an 80 foot waterfall.
However, the Deer Brook descends over 500 feet over a stretch of
less than 3000 feet. There are multiple falls along this hike.
All of the photos here are from a contributor. The first
four are of the main waterfall and the last two are two smaller
falls that were encountered on the hike.
Deer Brook enters the Ausable River East Branch just south of
the hamlet of Keene Valley. This then joins forces with the
west branch in Ausable Forks. The combined Ausable River empties
into Lake Champlain in the town of Peru.
