To get from Falls #4 to Falls #5, return to the
trail and continue up for about a half mile. While
on the trail you will cross a small tributary that
joins the stream that Falls #1-6 are on. Shortly
after crossing that tributary, Falls #5 will be on
the left about 20 yards from the trail. It is
hidden a little bit by the rocks but if the water is
running you will hear it and it is east to walk over
to from the trail.
This 2 part falls is about 8' tall.
Just a few yards upstream is a small 4'
flume, since you're there you might as well take a
look at it, it kind of pretty.
This tributary flows into the Butternut Brook just above
Butternut Brook Falls #4. Butternut Brook empties into Lake George.
The flow then goes north through LaChute, Lake Champlain and
then through Canada on the Richelieu River. It eventually
empties into the St. Lawrence River.
