There are two options to get from Falls #2 to Falls #3.
You can return to the main trail and continue up about
100 yards. You’ll see the falls on the left and
there is a path to follow to get to the base. If you
don’t mind going off trail for a little bit, climb up
the right side embankment of Falls #2 and follow the
stream to Falls #3. You’ll have to hop over a little
downfall but the stream is beautiful and it is really
quite easy to navigate.
At 25', Falls #3 is the tallest of this series of drops
on this stream, but unfortunately had a good amount of
downfall covering it. The last picture is the upper
portion which you can barely see from the base.
This tributary flows into the Butternut Brook just above
Butternut Brook Falls #4. Butternut Brook empties into Lake George.
The flow then goes north through LaChute, Lake Champlain and
then through Canada on the Richelieu River. It eventually
empties into the St. Lawrence River.
