Tenant Creek Falls is also known as
Hope Falls, Tenant Creek Lower Falls and Tenant Creek First Falls.
From the parking area, the trailhead is obvious. A short
distance in you will come to a registration kiosk. As
always, it is important that you register.
The 0.9 mile
trail to the falls is clearly marked and easy to follow.
Just keep following the yellow plastic DEC trail markers on the
trees.
The waterfall is between 35 and 40 feet and fans
out over a fairly smooth and steep base. It is a very
popular waterfall destination in the Adirondacks.
Although we have read accounts that note that many visitors end
there hike here to enjoy the beauty of this waterfall, march on!
You have come this far. There are two more nice waterfalls
upstream.
Tenant Creek flows into the East Stony Creek. This flows
south into the Great Sacandaga Lake, which feeds the Sacandaga River.
The Sacandaga merges with the Hudson River in Lake Luzerne.
The Hudson empties into the Atlantic Ocean in New York City.
