As
indicated in the directions side-bar, you should reference our
Tenant Creek Falls/Hope Falls page
for directions to the parking area and trailhead.
The
first waterfall is about 0.9 mile up the trail using the easy to
follow yellow DEC trail markers attached to trees periodically
on the trail.
After you reach the first falls, climb the
hill to the right of the falls (river left). You will
again find yellow DEC disks marking your way upstream. The
2nd Falls is another 1.1 mile.
On our trip to this
location in June 2019, we ran into some other hikers. One
of them told us that when you reach the 2nd Falls, you can also
see the 3rd Falls. We feel that person was mistaken.
The 2nd Falls is a two-part drop. The upper part of this
that you see from below is not the 3rd Falls, but part of the
2nd Falls. Continue up the trail for 3rd Falls.Tenant Creek flows into the East Stony Creek. This flows
south into the Great Sacandaga Lake, which feeds the Sacandaga River.
The Sacandaga merges with the Hudson River in Lake Luzerne.
The Hudson empties into the Atlantic Ocean in New York City.
