This is an unnamed waterfall in the city of Amsterdam.
We have tentatively given it this name because of its location.
Although parallel to 4th Avenue, it is off the end of Belmont
Place.
Since we dubbed anther waterfall in this area 4th Avenue Falls,
this one became Belmont Place Falls!
At the back of the parking lot, you'll see some foot paths going
back into the woods paralleling the creek. In some places the path
runs right along the edge of the steep creek bank. After a
short walk you'll find what appears to be an old retaining dam above
a set of falls/cascades. The water drops about six or eight
feet over the dam and then goes into a slide. Below that there
is a plunge into another slide. This waterfall covers quite
a bit of length here and drops a considerable distance. You
can get right down on the rocks in the creek and have an up close
and personal view and picture opportunities.
The water from the North Chuctanunda Creek makes its way into
the Mohawk River and the Hudson River before reaching the Atlantic
Ocean in New York City.
