This waterfall is located a considerable distance up the Mill
Stream. It is our understanding that it can only be
reached by hiking up the stream. We are continuing to
research the location.
A website user has been in contact with us and informed us
that this was a favorite spot for them to fish when he was
younger and grew up in the Syracuse area. He noted that
they used to fish from the area around the old saw mill up to
the falls. This was in the days before cell phones so he had no
camera with him.
On his last visit, he noted that someone had built a cabin
near the top of the falls. It looked like it was
accessed from a logging road from the east but they did not
further investigate it.
He also mentioned that there was a time when he was dropped
off from another road above the falls and they fished all the
way down to the Redfield Road. On this trip, they found "a
couple" of smaller falls above the main falls.
He has provided us with a satellite view of the Mill Stream
in the area of the falls. It doesn't show much detail but
it does show the shape of the stream at that point which may
help in locating it.
The Mill Stream empties into the North Branch of the Salmon River
within a very short distance of the Salmon River Reservoir. The Salmon then flows through
Pulaski and into Lake Ontario.
