The parking area here is simply a wide spot on the shoulder.
If you pull to the farthest end of this, you will see a trail and
a sign indicating "No Littering $500 fine". A
short distance before this on the NY 28 side is another
trailhead that is not marked. The
hike on either trail is quick and easy.
There is a small picnic area here and you can get right to the
water. This is somewhat of a step type waterfall. The
stream is about 35' wide at the top and there are two small steps
of about one and three feet, respectively. Then the channel
narrows through a chute only a few feet wide. There is a ribbon
cascade of four to five feet here. After about ten more feet,
there is a slide that drops another eight to ten feet.
Mill Creek flows into the Hudson River just downstream of this
waterfall. The Hudson River empties into the Atlantic Ocean
in New York City.
