Please note that this is not the only unnamed waterfall in
Northern New York that we have dubbed Mill Creek Falls.
Nor is it the only Mill Creek in the North Country. In
fact, it is not the only Mill Creek in Lewis County. It
is, however, the only waterfall we know of on this particular
Mill Creek, located in the town of Lowville.
As indicated in the directions side-bar, you can see this
from the roadway, at least in the spring before the foliage
blooms. It is in the area across from the US Marines
helicopter display in that section.
We are researching the access. Tax maps show that the
property here is owned by Lewis County. However, property
lines do zig-zag back and forth across the stream and the
ownership of this exact location isn't clear.
The Mill Creek empties into the Black River which flows into Lake Ontario
in Dexter, Jefferson County.
