Directions
From I-87, Exit 12, go east to US 9. Take a left
and go north until you get to the turn on NY 9P where you
should take a right. Continue on 9P, 1.2 miles past
the intersection of NY 423. At a point known as Maple
Shade, turn right onto Brown Road. Less than 0.2 mile
from this point, Brown Road bears left and Putnam Road goes
right. The waterfall is just up from this corner on
the right.

Although other sources claim otherwise, you can
not see this waterfall from the road, at least during most times
in the year. Foliage is an issue. There is a concrete
abutment that looks like it is left over from a bridge or something
from the past. The waterfall forms on the creek that flows
under this.
Walk down the embankment to the right/downstream side of this
and you will easily find this slide type falls. It can
also be seen from the other side of the stream which can be
accessed by going to the intersection and turning left on Putnam
Road.
This waterfall may also be known as the Maple Shade Falls.
The Mill Branch empties into Saratoga Lake. The flow then
goes through Fish Creek to the Hudson River in Schuylerville.
The Hudson empties into the Atlantic Ocean in New York City.
