Follow the Van Hoevenberg Trail, which starts near the parking area at the Adirondack Loj, for 2.1 miles to Marcy Dam.  Continue on the main trail toward Avalanche Pass.  Past Avalanche Lake, just before reaching Lake Colden, there is a trail that leads to Algonquin Peak.  This is 3.0 miles from Marcy Dam.  There is a smaller waterfall on the way to the main falls which is 0.8 miles from that point.

If anyone has any pictures of this waterfall, we would be very interested in hearing from you.

This unnamed stream enters Lake Colden a short distance downstream from the waterfall.  The flow from there is through a body of water called Flowed Lands and into the opalescent River.  This empties into the Hudson River with joins the Atlantic ocean in New York City.

The Heart Lake area by the Adirondack Loj provides the access for Rocky Falls, MacIntyre Brook Falls, Indian Falls and the Lake Colden Tributary Falls.  Considering the length of the hike to these areas, you might want to consider grouping these together.
