Westport is east of the I-87 exit 31. Just south
of the intersection of NY 9N and NY 22, there is a bridge
over the Hoisington Brook. A side street just south
of this takes you down the hill to Lee Park.

A very pleasant and well maintained
nature trail meanders through Lee Park. From the parking area, you
can see a footbridge just upstream. The main drop of the falls
is under that footbridge.
The best view of the main drop is from the parking lot area or
near the brook by it. At the footbridge, you are looking right
down on top of the waterfall. The trail continues upstream,
first through a section of concrete walkway with a metal railing,
under the route 22/9N bridge and then along the brook where you
will encounter several more small drops. This entire area
is a series of ledges that form natural steps that the brook descends.
The main drop is about five steps dropping some six to eight feet
and there is another upstream of about 2' but the majority of the
dozens of drops in this area are smaller steps or a foot or so each.
You can actually get right out on the river bed from the nature
trail.
The Hoisington Brook is one of the smaller waterways in northern
New York containing a waterfall, that flows directly into one of
the bordering outlets. It is also perhaps one of the closest.
The main drop is only about 100 yards from Lake Champlain and part
of this park is a beach on the lake.
