Directions
There is only one main intersection on US 11 in the hamlet
of De Kalb Junction. CR 17 exits to the southeast
and leads to the hamlet of Hermon. As you enter the
hamlet, you will see the Hermon Wasterwater Management Facility
on the right. Park in this area.

on the opposite side of the road from the treatment plant, there
is a guard rail which is easy to pass. In the creek below
there is a little waterfall of five feet or so. In addition
to the main drop that covers the width of the creek, there is a
section of rapids below it that drops the river's level another
few feet over the next hundred feet or so.
We have to be honest in saying we are not absolutely certain
that this is public land. There are no posted signs or other
signage indicating that it is private. You do have unobstructed
views of it from the roadside. You just don't have that "up
front and personal" view. We are also researching as
to whether this area provides access to the Hermon Falls just upstream
of here.
The Elm Creek flows into the Harrison Creek in the town of Canton.
This flows into the Grasse River which flows into the St. Lawrence
River in Massena.
