The Hamlet of Colton is located on NY
56, a few miles east of Potsdam. At the intersection
of Main Street, proceed northeast. There are two parking
areas. The first is on the left just before crossing
the bridge. For the second, which is the preferred
route for waterfalls, take the left after crossing the bridge
and drive behind the fire hall.

For several years, we have had this drop listed as Stone Valley
Falls #1. In April 2018, we learned that residents of this
area refer to this as The Bubbler. As a result, we have
edited this accordingly.
This is the
first drop you will encounter downstream of Colton Falls
on the Stone Valley Trail as
you hike the east side of the river from the parking area at the
Colton Fire Hall.This is a nice little falls of about a six
to eight foot plunge. Anywhere else, we would consider it
a waterfall, but within this stretch of water, it is almost
insignificant.
The Raquette River empties into the St. Lawrence River in Massena,
New York.
