Lake Placid Quadrangle

There is a hydro-electric facility run by Brookfield Power at Franklin Falls.  From the roadside you can see the dam below.  The foliage, however, prevents you from having a good view, and posted signs throughout the area prevents you from reaching the river's edge for a better view.  originally, we thought that there might be a waterfall below the dam, but upon closer inspection of satellite images, it appears that there is no longer a waterfall here.

If anyone disagrees with this or has any information on this location, please feel free to contact us.

The Saranac River flows into Lake Champlain in Plattsburgh.
